About Burleigh Bites
What is an esfiha?
An esfiha (also spelled sfiha or esfirra) is a traditional Brazilian snack with Lebanese origins. Brazil is home to one of the largest Lebanese communities outside Lebanon, and over generations, the esfiha became a beloved staple of Brazilian bakeries and street food culture. It's a small, open-faced or folded pastry made from soft, pillowy dough — baked and filled with savoury or sweet toppings. Think of it like a Brazilian pizza pocket, but lighter, more delicate, and incredibly addictive.
Where are you based?
We're based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Our pickup locations are in Nerang and Varsity Lakes. Our food truck also operates at markets and events across the Gold Coast — follow us on Instagram or Facebook to find out where we'll be next.
Who makes the food?
All our food is handcrafted by Chef Chris — a Brazilian chef who grew up with these recipes. Everything is made fresh with quality ingredients. No shortcuts, no preservatives.
Ordering Online
How do I order freshly baked esfihas?
Freshly baked esfihas are pre-order only. Browse our Freshly Baked Bites collection, add to your cart, and place your order before Friday midday. Your order will be ready for pickup on Friday or Saturday at Nerang or Varsity Lakes.
When do orders close?
Orders for freshly baked bites close Friday midday. Orders placed after that time will roll over to the following week.
Can I order frozen packs anytime?
Yes! Our Frozen Packs are available to order any time. There's no weekly cutoff — simply order online and collect from our pickup locations or arrange delivery across the Gold Coast.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we offer delivery across the Gold Coast for frozen packs and catering orders. For catering enquiries that require delivery, please fill in our catering form and we'll confirm delivery details with you directly.
Can I place a custom order?
Absolutely. If you need a flavour combination, quantity, or product that's not on the menu, get in touch with us and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Where can I pick up my order?
We have two pickup locations on the Gold Coast:
- Nerang
- Varsity Lakes
Your exact pickup address will be confirmed in your order confirmation email.
What days can I pick up?
Pickup is available Friday and Saturday for freshly baked orders. Frozen packs may be available for pickup on other days — contact us to confirm.
Dietary & Allergens
Are your products halal?
Yes — our beef products use halal certified beef. This is noted on each relevant product page. If you have specific dietary requirements, please contact us before ordering.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Yes! Several of our products are vegetarian, including our Cheese Open Esfiha, Spinach Cheese & Corn Esfiha, Pumpkin & Cashew Cheese Esfiha, sweet esfihas, and our dips range.
Do you have vegan options?
Our Pumpkin & Cashew Cheese Esfiha is vegan. Please check individual product pages for dietary details, or contact us if you have specific requirements.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Our esfihas are made with wheat dough and are not gluten-free. Our dips (Labneh and Eggplant Mediterranean Dip) are naturally gluten-free. If you have a gluten intolerance or allergy, please contact us so we can advise you.
What allergens are in your products?
Our esfihas typically contain gluten, egg, and dairy. Products containing pork (Calabrese) or nuts (Dubai Chocolate — pistachio; Nutella esfihas — hazelnuts) are noted on their product pages. All products are made in a kitchen where nuts are present. For full allergen information, check the individual product descriptions or contact us directly.
Frozen Packs
How do I cook frozen esfihas?
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Place esfihas on a lined baking tray directly from frozen. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden. Do not microwave. To reheat leftovers, bake at 160°C for 5 minutes.
How long do frozen packs last?
Keep frozen. Best consumed within 3 months of purchase.
Can I refreeze them once thawed?
We recommend not refreezing once thawed. Bake what you need and keep the rest frozen.
Catering
Do you do catering?
Yes — catering is one of our favourite things! We offer freshly prepared platters for events of all sizes across the Gold Coast, from 10 people to 100+. We cater for corporate lunches, birthday parties, engagements, baby showers, cocktail events, sporting events, school functions, and more.
How do I get a catering quote?
Fill in our Catering Enquiry form with your event details and we'll get back to you within 24 hours with a personalised quote. For urgent enquiries, call us directly on 0450 166 466.
How far in advance do I need to book catering?
We recommend getting in touch at least 5–7 days before your event to ensure availability. For large events or peak periods, earlier is always better.
Do you offer food truck catering for private events?
Yes! Our food truck BB1 is available for private bookings, markets, and corporate events. Submit an enquiry and we'll be in touch.

Can I stock Burleigh Bites in my café or shop?
