It's been a big few weeks for the Burleigh Bites team — and we're only just catching our breath.
First up was the Gold Coast Marathon. If you were anywhere near the course, you'll know exactly what we mean when we say the energy was unreal. Thousands upon thousands of runners powered through, cheered on by even more thousands of spectators lining the streets. We were right there in the middle of it, serving up bites to keep the crowd fuelled and smiling — from early-morning starters to the last stragglers crossing the line. There's something pretty special about handing someone a warm esfiha the moment they've just finished 42.2km. Respect to every single runner out there.
We barely had time to restock before we packed up again for the QLD Football State Championships, where we spent the following week among the players, coaches and families cheering from the sidelines. We loved being part of it, feeding hungry teams and families between matches and getting to know the football community a little better.
very different events, same reason we love doing this: getting out from behind the counter and into the middle of what's happening on the Gold Coast. Whether it's a marathon, a footy tournament, a market stall or a private function, there's nothing quite like cooking for a crowd that's genuinely stoked to see you.
A massive thank you to the organisers of both events for having us, and to everyone who stopped by the truck — whether it was your first Burleigh Bites or your fiftieth. We see you, and we appreciate you.
